Here are some notable quotes from the No. 9 Ole Miss Rebels following their 24-17 loss at The Swamp on Saturday to the Florida Gators.

QUOTE: “We’re just in today. It’s going to be really challenging just today. I haven’t got to tomorrow, yet. There was a lot at stake here and a lot of disappointed players, coaches in that locker room. This is the setup. Here’s the playoff line, you kind of know where it is a little bit. Third loss doesn’t get you there.” — Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin
CONTEXT: Ole Miss fell to 8-3 overall, 4-3 in the SEC with the loss — and very well may have had its College Football Playoff hopes dashed.

QUOTE: “I think the only thing I can really say right now is sorry to my teammates, sorry to my coaches and sorry to the fans. Can’t lose these games. This one’s going to hurt for a really long time.” — Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart.
CONTEXT: Dart was 24 for 41 for 323 yards and two touchdowns. But he also threw two costly fourth-quarter interceptions.

QUOTE: “It’s football. It happens. The year before, the close ones were opposite and they went our way. Sometimes it bounces that way and sometimes we had opportunities to make plays in situations. … Really disappointed in the outcome. A lot was at stake and we didn’t come through — doesn’t go your way.” — Kiffin
CONTEXT: The Rebels’ three losses are by a combined 13 points.

QUOTE: “It was a game with a lot of missed opportunities, going 0-for-3 in the red zone, missed field goals and getting stopped on fourth down and lose the turnover margin against in a tough place to play.” — Kiffin
CONTEXT: Ole Miss outgained the Gators 464-344 and had 24 first downs to 19 for Florida. But Ole Miss was 3 of 14 on third down, 2 of 4 on fourth down and lost the turnover battle 3-1.

QUOTE: “Very unusual. Wish we could’ve taken that back. Just completely unusual that he threw that ball in that situation. He’s usually really good at that. I told him before that we had plenty of time to take shots and he went very aggressive on that.” — Kiffin on Dart’s first interception.
CONTEXT: Dart’s pass was intercepted by Gators safety Bryce Thornton in the end zone with 1:32 left to play. Thornton then clinched it with another pick with 17 seconds on the clock.
