Gator Great Tim Tebow elected to College Football Hall of Fame
Hours before the 2022 season comes to an end, the National Football Foundation (NFF) announced Florida Gators quarterback Tim Tebow was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame.
A fan-favorite for many Florida fans, Tebow was the face of Florida Football at its highest point, as the Jacksonville quarterback was on both the 2006 and 2008 national championship teams. A member of the winningest senior class in SEC History, Tebow went 48-7 in his four years at UF.
The 2007 Heisman Winner left Florida completing 66.4 percent of his passes, throwing for 9,285 yards, adding 88 touchdowns through the air and only throwing 16 interceptions. A true dual threat, Tebow added another 2,947 yards rushing, finding the end zone 55 times on the ground over his four-year college career.
Already a member of the Florida Football Ring of Honor and the University of Florida Hall of Fame, Tebow continues to add to his long list of accolades and awards.
Tebow is the 10th Florida player in the College Football Hall of Fame, joining Dale Van Sickel, Steve Spurrier, Jack Youngblood, Emmitt Smith, Carlos Alvarez, Danny Wuerffel, Wes Chandler and Lomas Brown. Florida also has four coaches in the College Football Hall of Fame: Charles Bachman, Ray Graves, Doug Dickey and the aforementioned Spurrier.
