WATCH: GatorMade provides financial literacy session for UF football team
Another week, another initiative from GatorMade.
Last Thursday through the GatorMade program, Men’s Wearhouse measured the entire Florida football team for custom-tailored suits. Each player will receive two every year.
The Gators received another visit at their facility Monday, this time from the NIL consulting firm Team Altemus. After a lesson on protective education, players applied real-world spending habits in an interactive financial literacy session.
“We teach financial literacy as a behavior,” Savannah Bailey, Florida’s senior director of player relations and GatorMade, said in the video below. “It’s not just a one-day decision. It’s a commitment to a lot of small actions. And so, we had the opportunity to partner with Team Altemus that was able to provide an engaging way for guys to practice those kind of spending habits based on their earning potential.”
According to its website, Team Altemus teaches athletes a “secrets to success” methodology where they emphasize the practice of daily habits and having a plan for sports, money and life.
“We’re going to go through a series of activities that represent life expenses,” CEO and founder Courtney Altemus told the UF football players.

“To make the session more engaging,” Bailey said, “we were able to create games for the guys to not only test their skills and to really go after something for a financial choice that they had made, but some of it being that chance, you know, did they account for taxes? Did they account for agent fees? Making sure that there are those small intricacies that are written into contracts that people utilize professionals for so that they have an eye-opening experience of where their money goes, who handles it and why.”
The GatorMade program, launched by head coach Billy Napier in January, is a holistic player-focused and purpose-driven initiative that develops the football players during their time at UF and beyond.
