The Florida Gators men’s basketball team announced it will compete in the upcoming season’s NIT Season Tip-Off at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

The event will take place on November 22 and 24. Alongside the Gators at the event will be Baylor, Pitt and Oregon State.

The games will be televised on ESPN networks, but the matchups and times have yet to be announced.

The Gators first took part in the NIT Season Tip-Off in 2002. It will be the program’s third time playing in the Barclays Center.

Most recently, the Gators played in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Invitational with a loss against Maryland in 2021 and a win over Providence in 2019. This trip will be the first to Brooklyn for UF under head coach Todd Golden.

Against Baylor, Florida is 1-2 all time. The Gators are 3-4 against Pitt all time. They caught their first win over Oregon State in the Phil Knight Invitational a season ago in the first-ever meeting between the two basketball programs.

Tickets have yet to go on sale for the event, but fans can go to https://espnevents.com/nit-tip-off/ to sign up for the official ticket pre-sale.

Golden and his staff brought in a number of newcomers both on the high school and transfer portal recruiting trails.

Although the Gators lost five players to the transfer portal, Golden and his staff were able to bring in the No. 9 transfer portal class with Tyrese Samuel, Walter Clayton Jr., Micah Handlogten and EJ Jarvis.

On the high school front, Thomas Haugh and Alex Condon will come in as true freshmen for the Gators this season.
