Florida Gators starting center Micah Handlogten sustained a serious injury early during Sunday’s SEC Tournament finals vs. Auburn while going up for an offensive rebound and left the game on a stretcher.

Handlogten has a fractured lower left leg, per Florida sports information.

The crowd at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena went silent after Handlogten fell to the floor with 17:40 left in the first half and Florida trailing 7-2.

Within moments, he was being tended to by medical personnel and a stretcher was brought out. His parents were allowed on the court to be near their son. The Auburn team even formed a circle to pray and players from both teams had looks of shock on their faces.

Per ESPN courtside announcer Marty Smith, an air cast, some straps and some towels were placed on Handlogten’ ankle/leg.
