GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators have some shakeups on the official depth chart this week due to injury and availability.

The most notable injury news would be to leading receiver Justin Shorter. The redshirt junior leads the Gators with a hamstring injury. Shorter has been limited in practice this week after aggravating his hamstring against Georgia.

“We’ll see where he’s at tomorrow,” Napier said Wednesday. “He’ll probably be a game-time decision.”

Following the dismissal of Brenton Cox Jr., Antwaun Powell-Ryland Jr. will make his first career start at outside linebacker.

Also, with Keon Zipperer out due to a knee injury, Jonathan Odom will have his first real opportunity to play extended snaps.

“He’s got a little bit of a knee. Nothing long-term there,” Napier said of Zipperer.

Florida linebacker Scooby Williams is also listed as “questionable” on the depth chart with a lower-body injury.

Napier was asked about Williams and his impact this season. Williams has battled injury all season, which has been magnified slightly due to Florida’s depth issues at middle linebacker.

“Scooby has made a ton of progress,” Napier said. “I think he’s getting used to playing the box as a stack ‘backer, that’s a new term to some degree. He has height, length, he’s a really good athlete. I think he’s getting better as a good communicator, getting with his eye discipline, his ability to process. Been a little bit banged up at times, but we’re hopeful as he gets healthy and gets more reps he definitely has a bright future.”

Freshman cornerback Devin Moore is also out for the season after undergoing shoulder surgery.
