Gators execute one of the best 3-day recruiting stretches in school history
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida Gators coach Billy Napier and his staff made history once again over the last few days.
After opening the month of June with a modern recruiting era school-record for official visitors (17) — the most Florida has hosted in at least 20 years — Napier’s army accomplished another feat this week.
The Gators picked four verbal commitments on Saturday from official visitors and three more on Monday, giving them seven total pledges in a 72-hour span (technically 55 hours, but who’s counting).
Prior to this cycle, UF had land four or more commits in one day just five times in two decades. Three of those occurrences were on National Signing Day and the other two happened in January.
Moreover, there’s been only one instance in the last 20 years where Florida received seven or more commitments over a three-day period, and that also took place during signing day week.
What Napier and his staff just pulled off marked the Gators’ best three-day run of commitments outside of signing day in the modern recruiting era. And it’s all quality, not just quantity.
Here’s a breakdown of the most recruits UF has landed in one day and over a 72-hour span since the 2004 class. The information below was compiled via the On3 and Rivals databases.
