The Florida Gators continue to feast on Florida State’s recruiting class.

Billy Napier & Co. now have flipped three recruits from the Seminoles in the last 10 days. First, it was 4-star quarterback Tramell Jones. Then came 3-star offensive lineman Daniel Pierre Louis.

Now, 4-star running back Byron Louis of Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage has made the move and will be a Gator. Louis had been an FSU commit since Sept. 21.

“I mean, honestly, the trajectory of this team, it’s only up from here,” Louis said of the Gators. “I like to say that winning is hard and I feel as if they’re starting to find that recipe. They’re starting to put it together.”

The Gators now have 19 commitments and a top-20 class. You can see the complete Florida Gators commit list HERE.

Louis, the No. 16 running back in the country for the On3 Industry Rankings, made an unofficial visit to Gainesville for the Florida-LSU game. It went well, so he returned last weekend for an official visit. The Gators put on a good show for Louis, beating No. 9 Ole Miss on Saturday in The Swamp. He especially liked what he saw from the running game.

“Honestly, running back is probably the most undervalued position in the NFL. But when they need us, they need us,” Louis said. “I feel as if a school like this, they prioritize running backs. This is big-time football. This is SEC football. And the fact they had consecutive weeks where they ran the ball efficiently, that just shows how important the run game is here. How they want to set themselves apart from every other team in the SEC.”

According to Louis, who is 5-foot-10.5, 205 pounds, he’s a good fit for the Florida offense.

“What they do schematically is very similar to my high school,” Louis said. “So it honestly just shows that whatever I’m doing in high school if I want to go to a college that’s going to do the same thing my high school is doing it’s just the best decision to make. Go somewhere where I know I’m comfortable. Not go somewhere where I’m uncomfortable and I’m in an uncomfortable offense. I’m very familiar with Coach (BillyNapier and his coaching style. You know, honestly, it works.”

Louis is Florida’s third running back commit in the 2025 class. He joins 4-star Waltez Clark of Tampa (Fla.) Plant and 3-star Chad Gasper of Fulshear (Texas) Jordan. Gasper is coming off a knee injury and probably won’t be at full strength for next season. In fact, he might not be ready to play in 2025. That made it important for the Gators to land Louis.

And now they have.

Meanwhile, after taking another significant hit to its recruiting class, FSU now has only 12 commitments.
