Gators have a team rule this week: ‘No conversation about weather’

Ahead of Florida’s final SEC game at Vanderbilt, first-year coach Billy Napier has instituted a team rule for this week.
“No conversation about weather,” Napier said at the start of his Monday press conference.
The Gators will be experiencing temperatures in the sub-30s when they travel to Nashville for an 11 a.m. local kick. The low for Saturday is 22 degrees and the high is 43.
“We don’t control the weather,” Napier said. “We’ll do our best in regards to that. Can’t have an opinion on it because we don’t control it. So, we’ll show up and play. Whatever the conditions are, they are.”
Florida quarterback and Gainesville native Anthony Richardson has experienced cold weather before, but not playing in below-freezing temperatures.
“I don’t think so. I played in some cold games. It wouldn’t be cold to a lot of people, but to me it’s definitely cold,” Richardson said with a laugh. “I’m looking forward to it. I’m excited to see how I perform in it.
“If the wind’s blowing too much, that’s cold (to me). If it’s 65, that’s kind of cold. If I got to throw on some slacks, it’s cold. … Just gotta stay warm. That’s the main goal right there. Try not to get in your own head about it.”

Gators defensive tackle Gervon Dexter smartly declined to discuss the weather when asked. He said Napier informed players of the new team rule on Sunday.
“He really don’t too much like distractions,” Dexter said. “So, he told us yesterday it was going to be cold, and that was the last thing we needed to say. That was the last thing we were going to talk about that.”
