Gators make the first cut for four-star 2024 quarterback DJ Lagway
The Florida Gators have made the first cut for elite 2024 quarterback DJ Lagway. The Gators were included in his top 10 list, which also included Baylor, Clemson, LSU, Alabama, Georgia, USC, Arkansas, Texas A&M and Oklahoma.
The Willis, Texas, quarterback is No. 31 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the No. 5 quarterback and No. 3 played in Texas.
Lagway visited Gainesville for the Kentucky game and spoke with Gators Online after his visit wrapped up. This weekend, Lagway was at Texas A&M in their win against Miami.

Lagway continued to talk about what he liked about Florida’s offense under Billy Napier.
“I like how he uses the play action; a lot of RPO stuff, a lot of bootlegs, sprint outs, so I love that,” said Lagway. “I’d say it fits me perfectly, especially with being out in space and being able to make plays with your legs and also with your arm. I think it would fit me perfectly.”
Despite growing up outside of Florida, Lagway grew up with his eyes on UF.
“As a kid growing up, it’s always been my dream school. It was a dream come true to come to a game, so it’s been awesome, amazing.”
