Gators offer Arizona Wildcats QB commit Robert McDaniel
A new quarterback target has emerged for the Florida Gators.
Thursday morning, Gators Online told subscribers to keep an eye on 3-star prospect Robert McDaniel of Hughson (Calif.). Thursday night, Florida offered him a scholarship. McDaniel, listed at 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, is an Arizona Wildcats commit and the No. 33 QB nationally for the On3 Industry Rankings.
McDaniel competed in this year’s Elite 11 Finals, a camp for the top quarterback prospects in the country. After the event, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power put McDaniel in the No. 10 spot in his final rankings and wrote the following about him.
“Robert McDaniel was a late invite to the Elite 11 following an injury to Tennessee commit George MacIntyre. The prospect from central California made the most of the opportunity. McDaniel was particularly good on the final two days. He had a strong pro day on Wednesday night and backed that up by throwing for four touchdowns during 7-on-7 on Thursday. McDaniel flashed a quick, pliable arm and was able to to stick throws on receivers and generate good velocity.”
Robert McDaniel is having a great senior season
At this time, it is not known what McDaniel’s interest level in Florida is but programs don’t generally just throw out quarterback offers unless there is at least some interest from the prospect. Multiple Gators coaches and staffers follow McDaniel on X, including Billy Napier and offensive analyst Ryan O’Hara, who coaches the Florida quarterbacks. O’Hara once played for Arizona.

The Gators are in need of a QB in the 2025 class. After signing 5-star recruit DJ Lagway in the 2024 class, they’ve swung and missed on multiple prospects this cycle. McDaniel is having a stellar season. He’s completed 112 of 173 passes for 1,898 yards, 26 touchdowns and only one interception.
Gators Online will be tracking this recruit closely moving forward. It seems as though a visit to Gainesville, Fla., certainly possible.
