More national recognition has found its way to Jake Slaughter, as the Florida Gators offensive lineman earned AP First Team All-SEC honors on Thursday.

Slaughter, one of the nation’s premier centers, was also recently named an All-SEC First Team selection by USA Today Sports. He started all 12 of Florida’s games during the regular season and leads the offensive line in total snaps played with 728.

According to Pro Football Focus, Slaughter ranks third nationally among centers with an offensive grade of 81.2. His run blocking grade of 79.1 ranks seventh nationally. He has been the Gators’ most consistent offensive linemen this season and leads that unit with top grades in both pass and run blocking.

Prior to the 2024 season, the Ocala native was named on the Rimington Trophy Preseason Watch List, aimed at recognizing the top centers in the sport prior to the 2024 college football season.

Last season, Slaughter played in all 12 games and started eight of them. He graded out as the No. 14 center in the FBS with a 75.9 PFF grade across 622 total snaps. That consistent play carried over to this season, making Slaughter was one of the premier centers nationally and an On3 4-star college player.

Since Billy Napier‘s arrival in Gainesville, Florida has seen two offensive linemen earn All-SEC honors: Jake Slaughter and O’Cyrus Torrence, who is now a member of the Buffalo Bills.
