Gators OL Jake Slaughter earns First-Team All-SEC honors

Florida Gators center Jake Slaughter, a native of nearby Ocala, has been named All-SEC First Team by USA Today Sports. He started all 12 of Florida’s games during the regular season and leads the offensive line in total snaps played with 728.
According to Pro Football Focus, Slaughter ranks third nationally among centers with an offensive grade of 81.2. His run blocking grade of 79.1 ranks seventh nationally. He has been the Gators’ most consistent offensive linemen this season and leads that unit with top grades in both pass and run blocking.
Prior to the 2024 season, Slaughter was also named on the Rimington Trophy Preseason Watch List, aimed at recognizing the top centers in the sport prior to the 2024 college football season.
Last season, Slaughter played in all 12 games and started eight of them. He graded out as the No. 14 center in the FBS with a 75.9 PFF grade across 622 total snaps. That consistent play carried over to this season, making Slaughter was one of the premier centers nationally.
Since Billy Napier‘s arrival in Gainesville, Slaughter becomes the second Florida offensive lineman to earn All-SEC honors, joining O’Cyrus Torrence, who is now a member of the Buffalo Bills.
