Gators Online Show: Florida loses OL coach, new strength coach
Welcome to the Gators Online Show! For episode 80, co-hosts Zach Abolverdi and Nick de la Torre react to the latest staff changes with Florida football and preview the 2024 UF baseball season.
We open the show with Thursday’s news on offensive line coach Darnell Stapleton, who was hired by the Washington Commanders as their new assistant offensive line coach under former Florida defensive coordinator Dan Quinn.
Stapleton was one of two OL coaches for the Gators, along with offensive coordinator Rob Sale, and leaves Billy Napier with just nine assistants on his coaching staff. We break down the different directions Napier could go with this hire.
Napier will be tasked with finding a new head strength coach as well after director of football performance Craig Fitzgerald left for Boston College just a month into Florida’s offseason workouts. How will UF move forward? We discuss.
We also react to the departure of graduate assistant Brandon Taylor, one of the special teams coaches who took on more responsibility on the staff last season, and preview the Gators’ 2024 baseball season, which opens on Friday.
