Gators Online Show: Florida loses Trevor Etienne, hosting transfers
Welcome to the Gators Online Show! For episode 74, co-hosts Zach Abolverdi and Nick de la Torre cover running back Trevor Etienne, other transfer portal developments and more.
We open the show with the breaking news from Etienne, who announced Thursday that he’s transferring from Florida. He’s the 13th scholarship player to leave the 2023 roster.

We break down what led to Etienne’s exit, how the Gators move forward at the position and the latest on starting RB Montrell Johnson Jr. as he decides whether to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft return to school for his senior year.
We also discuss junior EDGE Princely Umanmielen entering the portal instead of turning pro, how that impacts the JACK outside linebacker spot and whether Umanmielen could reverse course and choose to come back to UF.
In addition to the recruits visiting this weekend, Florida is also scheduled to host three transfers on official visits, including Penn graduate transfer defensive tackle Joey Slackman.
