Gators Online Show: Secondary taking shape, QB race in full swing
Welcome to the Gators Online Show! For episode 44, co-hosts Zach Abolverdi and Nick de la Torre discuss the Gators returning to the practice field after spring break, the secondary taking shape and UF recruiting. Florida’s Dr. Kevin Farmer also joins the show.
The episode begins with the Gators being back in camp. Abolverdi and de la Torre share their takeaways on Corey Raymond’s interview this week and the competition so far between UF’s quarterback, who will meet with the media for first time on Saturday.

Abolverdi and de la Torre then give their thoughts on Florida quarterback commit DJ Lagway visiting UF with five-star recruit Jeremiah Smith, an Ohio State pledge who is ranked the nation’s No. 1 wide receiver. They also preview Florida’s Pro Day, which has been scheduled for March 30.
The guest of the week is Florida’s Dr. Kevin Farmer, who was named this week as the 2023 SEC Team Physician of the Year. Farmer reacts to the recognition, details his job as an orthopedic surgeon and reflects on his 13-year career with the Gators.
The guys wrap up the show by discussing Florida’s ‘Chalk Talk event this week, the latest hoops news with the transfer portal, UF baseball’s series win over Alabama and comeback victory at FSU, and Gators gymnastics sweeping the SEC titles for the second straight year.
