Another Gators signee has officially relocated to Gainesville.

Jack Miller, who recently signed with UF after transferring from Ohio State, was announced as an enrollee by the university on Wednesday.

A native of Phoenix, Arizona, Miller was a redshirt freshman in 2021 and appeared in four games for the Buckeyes; however, he will have four years of eligibility while strapping up the pads for the orange and blue.

“Coach Napier and his staff, the staff he has put together, it’s one of the best staffs in the country. I can’t wait to see what coach Napier does,” Miller said in a video released by the University of Florida. “He’s a super good man, a super good coach. I think he’s building something extremely special.

“It makes you feel like home; it makes you feel like you’re part of something bigger than yourself I think. I’m super excited to be here; I’m super pumped up to be a part of Gator nation.

“It’s a crazy feeling. I grew up coming to games, watched them as a kid, and now that I’m on the field, being able to walk out there was special. I’m ready to get to work. Go Gators.”

This past season, Miller completed 5-of-8 passes for 66 yards against Akron and 2-of-3 passes for 35 yards against Indiana. He saw action against Maryland and Rutgers as well.

The Gators’ quarterback situation for the 2022 season

The Gators do not have a quarterback in the 2022 class, while Emory Jones is expected to enter the transfer portal at some point. Miller would then be the fourth quarterback on scholarship, joining Anthony Richardson, Jalen Kitna and Carlos Del Rio-Wilson. Miller and Richardson are likely to battle it out for the starting job later this year.

During the 2020 recruiting cycle, Miller was labeled as a four-star prospect and 24th-ranked quarterback in the On3 Consensus Rankings. He also holds the state of Arizona’s single-season passing record with 3,653 passing yards and 53 touchdowns.

In addition to the Buckeyes and Gators, Miller earned high school offers from Alabama, LSU, Texas A&M, Auburn and Michigan among others.
