Regardless of the program, colleges are seeing numerous players transfer out on a yearly basis. That is the norm in today’s day-and-age of college football.

For Billy Napier and the Gators, they have witnessed attrition as well.

For our Gators Online subscribers, below is an updated look at notable Florida transfers since Napier’s arrival and how they are faring elsewhere.

Former Florida Gators now playing elsewhere

RB Trevor Etienne (Georgia): Etienne has rushed for 422 yards and seven touchdowns in six games for the Dawgs, averaging 5.1 yards per carry. He has also caught 20 passes for 130 yards. During his time with the Gators, the Louisiana native rushed for nearly 1,500 yards and 14 touchdowns.
WR Xzavier Henderson (Cincinnati): Henderson played three seasons for the Gators but has taken his game to the next level at Cincy. So far this season, the Miami native has hauled in 42 passes for 541 yards and four touchdowns. In 2023, he recorded 994 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns, including 58 receptions for 782 yards. He’s a star for the Bearcats.
DE Antwaun Powell-Ryland (Virginia Tech): There are not many who rush the passer better than Powell-Ryland, who has 11 sacks in 2024 to go along with 28 tackles, three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles. In 2023, he finished with 40 tackles, 9.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. With the Gators, Powell-Ryland appeared in 27 games and started five of them in 2022, finishing with 29 tackles, three sacks and three forced fumbles. He would likely be a top contributor at Florida right now.
S Donovan McMillon (Pittsburgh): McMillon has filled the stat sheet since returning to his home state. So far in 2024, he has recorded 56 tackles (29 solo), three pass deflections, one interception and a forced fumble. Last season, however, is when he really made his presence felt, finishing with 105 tackles and a forced fumble. He played in 25 games during his two years in Gainesville, mostly as a reserve safety and on special teams.
LB Ty’Ron Hopper (Missouri): Now a rookie in Green Bay after being selected in the 3rd round, Hopper spent three seasons in Gainesville before heading to Missouri. He was one of five finalists for the Butkus Award in 2023 and earned Second-Team All-SEC (Coaches) honors.
DL Chris McClellan (Missouri): Through seven games for the Tigers, McClellan has recorded 27 total tackles, 2.5 sacks, two pass deflections, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He appeared in all 25 games during his two years at Florida and was on the verge of breaking out.
OL Richie Leonard (Florida State): Leonard was a starter during his lone season at FSU before being ruled out for the season due to injury. That was in late September. With the Gators, he started 12 games for the Gators in 2023 and logged a team-high 755 snaps. He appeared in 31 games during his time at Florida.
OL Micah Mazzccua (Nebraska): Mazzccua started two games earlier in the season at right guard. That’s the same position he started 11 games at for the Gators in 2023. The right side of the line has been a weakness for UF, so you can’t say they couldn’t use him for depth purposes.
RB Nay’Quan Wright (USF): In 2024, Wright has rushed for 262 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 4.6 yards per carry. He had a bigger impact in 2023 though, finishing with 797 rushing yards and eight touchdowns. While with the Gators, Wright rushed for 753 yards and five touchdowns over four seasons.
Tre’Vez Johnson (Missouri): Like Hopper, Johnson spent three years at Florida before teaming up with the Tigers. This season, the Sunshine State native has logged 13 total tackles, two pass deflections and an interception. In 2023, he recorded 40 tackles (21 solo) and has eligibility through the 2025 season.
LB Scooby Williams (Texas A&M): So far with the Aggies, Williams has contributed with 26 tackles (13 solo), two pass deflections, one interception and a fumble recovery. He has eligibility through 2025. With the Gators in 2023, Williams started 10 games and ranked third on the team in tackles with 53 stops.
DE Princely Umanmielen (Ole Miss): So far in 2023, Umanmielen has recorded 13 total tackles and 3.5 sacks. He spent four seasons in Gainesville, having earned several accolades in 2023, including AP All-SEC Second Team honors.
WR Caleb Douglas (Texas Tech): Douglas had a decent freshman year and was poised to start in 2024. Now with the Red Raiders, he has hauled in 30 passes for 419 yards and four touchdowns this season.
Jaydon Hill (Texas A&M): Starting at nickel, Hill has recorded 13 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 2024. He appeared in 44 games for the Gators, having started in 25 of them.
