GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators will look to change the narrative this weekend on the road. Florida is just 1-7 away from The Swamp under Billy Napier but will look to get a win against the South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium.

The Gamecocks are coming off of a much-needed bye week. Since 2009, South Carolina is 14-2 when coming off of a bye, including a 2-0 mark under Shane Beamer. Florida will get its bye next week, ahead of their annual matchup with the Georgia Bulldogs.

  • Week 7 marks the 44th meeting between Florida and South Carolina including the 22nd matchup in Columbia.
  • Florida owns a 30-10-3 series lead and commands a 12-8-1 advantage over the Gamecocks on the road.
  • The Gators are 25-7 vs. the Gamecocks since 1964 and 10-5 in the last 15 games in Columbia since 1993.
  • Despite that track record, the Gators have dropped four of their last six contests at South Carolina.
  • In last year’s 38-6 drubbing, Florida posted its largest margin of victory (+32) in an SEC game of the Billy Napier era.
