In-state DB Teddy Foster commits to Florida Gators
Teddy Foster, a 3-star cornerback from Sarasota (Fla.) Cardinal Mooney and priority target for Billy Napier and Co. in Gainesville, has committed to the Florida Gators.
He chose them over North Carolina and Miami.
Why Florida?
“A lot of reasons,” Foster told Gators Online. “It’s a dream.”
Foster is listed at 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds. He is the No. 67 cornerback nationally in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Foster began landing offers back in 2022. But things really picked up earlier this year.
That’s when the likes of Southern California, North Carolina, Miami, Michigan State and others joined his offer list. Florida secondary coach Corey Raymond scouted Foster in person this spring and offered him a scholarship May 23.
From there, the Gators surged in Foster’s recruitment.

“Billy Napier showed a lot of love,” Foster said. “What really stuck out to us and we brought it up to him was that he didn’t recruit me early. And that was a big thing. But he made sure that with the time that was lost, he tried to catch back up. Assistant coaches have been giving me check-ups every day. Texts from Coach Raymond every day. Texts from (defensive coordinator Austin) Armstrong every day. Group chat with Coach Napier.”
Foster is commitment No. 20 in the 2024 cycle for the Gators. They currently have the No. 3 class in the country (Full class HERE). Foster is Florida’s first 2024 cornerback verbal.

For the Gators, Raymond’s presence was hugely significant in this recruitment. And to Foster, the coach’s track record was an eye-opener.
“It’s amazing,” Foster said. “He’s one of those guys, he could talk about all the people he put in the NFL. But me and him, when we had our meeting, it was mostly just about me and just getting me and trying to get me on the field as fast as possible. He didn’t want to throw all his achievements at me and stuff like that. He was very much about getting to work and getting better.”
Foster, who didn’t get serious about football until his sophomore year because he previously concentrated on basketball, has the athleticism, skillset and long frame Raymond covets. And Foster is excited about getting to Gainesville.

“(The Gators are) getting a great leader,” Foster said. “Out here, I lead my team. I bring a lot of culture to (Cardinal Mooney). We’ve built this a lot. You’re going to get a great ball player. Great length. Can go get the ball.”
