GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators and LSU Tigers will play under the lights this Saturday, Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m. (6:30 local) on SEC Network. Both the Gators and Tigers are coming off of losses last week. Florida lost 39-36 to Arkansas at home. LSU lost 42-28 on the road to Alabama.

The Gators squandered an opportunity to secure a bowl game on Saturday and now will have to look for a sixth win on the road this Saturday in Baton Rouge, at Missouri, or in the season finale on Nov. 25 against Florida State.

Florida has won just two road games since Billy Napier took over the program, making that bowl bid seem elusive. One of them was earlier this month against Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks and the other came in Napier’s first season against a five-win Texas A&M team.

“I said prior to the game, and I thought Arkansas had a better team than their record indicates. They played a lot of close games this year. Certainly, we talked a lot about the quarterback, the return of the running back, some new wrinkles on offense, and we saw that today,” Billy Napier said after the loss to Arkansas.

“I think that that group in there, my challenge to them was to be who they are because ultimately I think that it’s a group that has character. I think it’s a group that cares for each other and that has worked hard. This game can teach you a lot. There’s so many things that we’re going to learn as a result of today. I do feel like there are things we can do better. I know there will be questions about that. We had our opportunities. There’s no question about it. We had many opportunities throughout the day.

Florida will travel to No. 14 Missouri next week on Nov. 18 for the final conference game before a showdown between No. 4 Florida State on Nov. 15. Kickoff times and network selections will be announced for those games at a later date.

Florida Gators vs LSU Tigers

Florida and LSU have played 69 times with the series deadlocked at 33-33-3. LSU, however, has had Florida’s number over the last two decades. The Tigers hold a 13-7 record over the last 20 meetings. They have won four in a row, five of the last six, and eight of the last 10 games with Florida.

LSU opens as a 13-point favorite over Florida, according to lines released by FanDuel. The over/under is set at 60.5 points.
