Kickoff time announced for Florida-Arkansas game
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – When the Gators host Arkansas on Nov. 4, the game will be televised on ESPN2 and kickoff at noon, the Southeastern Conference (SEC) announced Monday.
Last week, Florida announced that the game sold out, marking the fourth consecutive this season and eighth overall under the guidance of Billy Napier.
There were four games sold out in Napier’s first season at Florida. Prior to that, the Gators had four sellouts total since 2018.
The Gators lead the series with an 8-2 record and are 5-0 when playing the Hogs inside the Swamp, outscoring them in those five matchups, 217-102.
It was in 2020 at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium when the Gators and Razorbacks last squared off, with UF coming out on top by the score of 63-35. Prior to that, the SEC programs last played in Gainesville in 2013, resulting in another victory for Florida.
The game will also mark Saluting Those Who Serve presented by VyStar Credit Union and Florida will debut black jerseys for the first time in school history. Gator fans attending the game are encouraged to wear black in support of this initiative.
In recognition of the teamwork spirit and the core values that characterize military members and first responders, each player’s nameplate on the back of their jersey will display one of five words that are synonymous with the principles embodied by those who serve. The five terms, which were selected by a representative of each branch of the military and first responders, are Honor, Courage, Commitment, Excellence and Integrity.
Fans can gear up for game day by purchasing the official black alternate jersey and other sideline apparel here.
“I know Gator Nation is excited about the team wearing black uniforms, but I don’t want us to lose sight of the intent relative to creating awareness and showing gratitude and appreciation for all branches of our military and first responders,” said Florida Head Coach Billy Napier. “We’re doing something that’s going to be a lot of fun, but ultimately, we’re hopeful that we can recognize and show appreciation for a lot of selfless people that have chosen a profession of service and put their lives at risk each day.”
Gators fans can also commemorate the occasion by purchasing their own replica black Gators helmets. A limited amount of team-issued jerseys and team-issued helmets will be auctioned. The auction begins Oct. 30 on Fanatics.com, and fans will receive the merchandise after the game has been played.
