Kickoff time announced for Gators and Volunteers
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The No. 18 Florida Gators and No. 15 Tennessee Volunteers are slated for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff on Sept. 24 airing on CBS, the Southeastern Conference announced Monday.
Florida last visited Knoxville in 2020 and defeated the Volunteers 31-19 in Neyland Stadium. The Gators own the all-time record at Tennessee 14-12 and the overall series 31-20. Florida won 16 of the last 17 meetings between the two SEC rivals, including last year’s 38-14 victory in the Swamp.
The trip to Knoxville will serve as the Gators’ first road game of the season. Florida started the season with home dates against Utah, Kentucky, and USF.

Gators will host USF next
Florida will finish a home-and-home with USF this Saturday. The Gators went to Tampa last year and secured a 42-20 win over the Bulls. This Saturday will serve as a reunion for Napier and USF head coach Jeff Scott. The two were both on Clemson’s staff under Dabo Swinney.
“South Florida comes to town. Very familiar with Jeff Scott. As he’s building a program, he obviously inherited a little bit of a tough dynamic there being year one and COVID. But Jeff’s a bright young coach, and his team is playing extremely hard,” Napier said on Monday. “You can see the effort. You can see the toughness, the week 1 to 2 improvement, and certainly some of the changes they made on the staff from a defensive standpoint. So Jeff’s growing that program up, and certainly you can see it on the film. Tons of respect for what he’s doing and how they’re doing it.”
Florida and USF will kick off this Saturday at 7:30 pm on SEC Network.
