Live Blog: Florida Gators 89, Georgia Bulldogs 59
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Five Gators scored in double figures Saturday as No. 5 Florida had its second 30-point victory in SEC play with an 89-59 win over Georgia.
UF built a double-digit lead with an 11-0 run in the first half, stretched it to 27 points before the break and led by as many as 34 in the second period.
Walter Clayton Jr. and Alijah Martin had 17 points apiece, Will Richard finished with 16, Alex Condon scored 14 and Thomas Haugh posted a double-double with 13 points and a team-high 11 rebounds.
Defensively, the Gators forced 18 turnovers with 13 steals — which led to 29 UF points — and held Georgia forward Asa Newell, who came in averaging 15.5 points, to a season-low eight points.

FINAL: FLORIDA 89, GEORGIA 59
The Gators (18-2, 5-2 SEC) won their 12th consecutive game against UGA (14-6, 2-5 SEC) and Todd Golden improved to 6-0 against former UF coach Mike White, whose team has lost four straight in SEC play. Florida had a 23-4 advantage in fastbreak points.
UF was 53.1% from the floor, its second-best shooting percentage in SEC play, and 35% beyond the arc (9-for-26), while the Bulldogs were held to their second-lowest shooting percentage in SEC play (35.6%) with just five 3-pointers on 23.8% from downtown (5-for-21).

Walter Clayton Jr. is now tied for a team-high 17 points with Alijah Martin, who’s been scoreless in the second half. Thomas Haugh has logged his second career double-double.

UF stretched its lead to 34 with back-to-back 3-pointers by Thomas Haugh and Will Richard, who turned around to go back on defense before his shot went in. Five Gators are in double figures.

The Gators have responded to UGA’s 8-0 run with an 8-1 run of their own, including six straight points by Walter Clayton Jr. The Bulldogs have missed 11 of their last 13 shots and haven’t scored in 3:01.

UF pushed its lead to 27 to start the second half, but the Bulldogs are on an 8-0 run and the Gators haven’t scored in 2:32 (five straight misses).

The Gators nearly double UGA’s point total, scoring 24 points off 14 first-half turnovers by the Bulldogs. Alijah Martin leads the team with 17 points on 7-for-8 shooting.

UF shot 67% in the first half (18-for-27) and 50% beyond the arc (7-for-14). UGA was held to 38% from the floor (9-for-24) but also shot 50% from downtown (5-for-10).
