FINAL: Florida falls in classic at No. 16 FSU, 45-38
The Florida Gators (6-6, 3-5 SEC) fell on Friday night against the No. 16 FSU Seminoles (9-3, 5-3 ACC) by a score of 45-38.
Florida still holds a 37-27-2 all-time series lead over Florida State, but the three-game winning streak over the Seminoles has come to an end.
The Gators do not have another game scheduled until they find out what bowl they’ve been selected to following championship weekend.

Fourth quarter
After one of the longest drives of the game due to penalties and injuries, the Gators got their first score of the second half on a Montrell Johnson 1 yard rushing touchdown. The Seminoles lead 38-31 with 10:35 remaining in the game.
The Florida defense came up big with a three and out that ended with an Antwaun Powell-Ryland strip sack that FSU recovered. The Gators set up shop at midfield with 8:48 left.
The Gators have tied it at 38 with a 45 yard rushing touchdown from Trevor Etienne with 7:41 remaining.
The Seminoles take the momentum right back with a 65 yard drive capped by a Benson 17 yard rushing touchdown. It’s 45-38 FSU with 4:06 left.
FSU stopped Florida on fourth down to effectively end the game.
Third quarter
The Gators opened up the second half with a three and out. Jeremy Crawshaw‘s punt went 52 yards, and the Seminoles will go to work from their own 20 yard line.
Florida State tied it up at 24 with a 46 yard field goal from Fitzgerald to cap off a 52 yard drive. There’s 8:53 left in the third.
Florida responded with another three and out. FSU is set up at its own 34 yard line with a chance to take the lead.
The Seminoles have reclaimed the lead with 4:21 left in the third quarter off a Benson 1 yard rushing touchdown. Travis deserves a ton of credit for that drive with a big throw and scramble to set up the goal line score.
Three drives for the Gators, and three three and outs. FSU is set up nicely at the Florida 44 yard line after a late hit on the punt return.
Travis hit Kentron Poitier for a 6 yard touchdown pass to extend the FSU lead to 38-24 with 2:28 remaining in the third.

Ryan Fitzgerald missed a 37 yard field goal after an impressive FSU drive to keep the score locked at 14 with 11:35 remaining in the half.
The Gators drove down the field in a hurry, and Richardson hits Pearsall for their second touchdown connection of the night. UF has reclaimed a 21-14 lead with 9:25 left in the half.
FSU took its time on the ensuing possession and have tied it at 21 off a Jordan Travis 1 yard rushing touchdown with 5:44 remaining.
Florida failed to score a touchdown, but after a 13 play drive, Adam Mihalek hits a 41 yard field goal. The Gators have taken a 24-21 lead in Tallahassee.
First quarter
True freshman Shemar James forced a fumble on FSU’s first drive of the game, and the Gators will set up shop for the first time at their own 46 yard line.
