Florida Gators win fifth straight with 14-4 run-rule victory vs. Stetson

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators won their fifth straight game on Tuesday night with a 14-4 run-rule victory over Stetson, the second matchup between the two teams this season. UF defeated the Hatters 6-1 in DeLand on Feb. 25.
The Gators scored in six of the seven innings with 13 hits and five home runs, including three by Bobby Boser. He’s the first Gator to do that since Jac Caglianone in 2023 against Cincinnatti. UF improved to 7-0 in home midweek games in 2025.
Jackson Barberi got the start and was pulled after 2.2 innings with four Ks, five hits, two runs and two walks. Alex Philpott took over and had a great showing, striking out four batters with one hit, one run and one walk in 3.1 innings pitched.

END OF 7TH: FLORIDA 14, STETSON 4
Florida RHP Christian Rodriguez replaced Alex Philpott in the seventh and tossed a 1-2-3 frame with a strikeout looking. Then Ashton Wilson and Brendan Lawson hit RBI doubles, with Lawson driving in two for the run-rule.
END OF 6TH: FLORIDA 11, STETSON 4
Make it three consecutive innings with a UF home run and no hits allowed by Philpott, who struck out two in the sixth. Florida then left the yard twice with Boser’s third homer and Blake Cyr’s two-run shot.
END OF 5TH: FLORIDA 8, STETSON 4
For the second straight inning, Philpott allows no hits and the Gators homered. This time it’s Ashton Wilson, who blasted a three-run jack — UF’s third home run of the game — to put Florida in front by four runs.
END OF 4TH: FLORIDA 5, STETSON 4
After Florida’s first 1-2-3 frame by Alex Philpott, Bobby Boser gave the Gators their first lead with his second home run of the night. He left the yard on a 379-foot shot and has his third multi-homer game of the season (13 total).

END OF 3RD: FLORIDA 4, STETSON 4
Barberi was pulled after 2.2 innings and Alex Philpott gave up a two-run homer against his first batter faced, Nelphie Lopez. But the Gators tied the game with Brody Donay’s double and Luke Heyman reaching on an error to score a run.
END OF 2ND: STETSON 2, FLORIDA 1
Barberi gave up three straight singles to open the second but closed out the inning with back-to-back strikeouts and three stranded. Stetson pulled starter Zane Coppersmith after 24 pitches (and 18 strikes) following Ashton Wilson’s single.
END OF 1ST: STETSON 2, FLORIDA 1
The Hatters scored the first runs of the game with back-to-back singles off UF starting pitcher Jackson Barberi, but UF responded with a leadoff jack by Bobby Boser. The ball traveled 423 feet and marked his 12th homer of the season.
