SAN FRANCISCO — The No. 1 seed Florida Gators advanced to the Final Four on Sunday with an 84-79 comeback win over 3-seed Texas Tech. UF rallied from a 10-point deficit and closed out the game with an 18-4 run.

Florida’s Walter Clayton Jr. scored a team-high 30 points and made the go-ahead 3-pointer with 59 seconds left. Thomas Haugh matched his career-high 20 points and grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds for a double-double.

The Gators have tied this game up with a 9-0 run on a pair of 3-pointers Thomas Haugh and another triple Walter Clayton Jr.

Florida’s three senior guards had no 3-pointers until this triple by Walter Clayton Jr. The Red Raiders haven’t scored in 3:02 but they’re heading to the line for two shots after this timeout.

A 6-0 run for the Red Raiders to take a double-digit lead. The Gators haven’t scored in 3:48 and need to respond. Texas Tech has 20 points off 10 UF turnovers.

The Gators cut the deficit to two with an alley-oop dunk by Micah Handlogten from Walter Clayton Jr. UF briefly took the lead after three free throws by Clayton and Handlogten’s basket interference call was reversed.

Florida forward Thomas Haugh has a team-high 12 points off the bench. The Gators were 10-for-10 from the line in the first period, shooting 45% from the floor (13-for-29) and 36% beyond the arc (4-for-11).

The Red Raiders made seven 3-pointers (7-for-16) in the half and shot 40% for the half (14-for-35). UF is winning the rebounding battle 22-17, but the Red Raiders have a 13-5 edge in second-chance points.

The Gators have made four of their last five shots and regained the lead for the first time since the 12:29 mark with the transition dunk by Thomas Haugh.
