Live Blog: Missouri Tigers 83, Florida Gators 82
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The No. 5 Florida Gators had their 16-game home winning streak snapped Tuesday with an 83-82 loss to Missouri. UF’s four-game winning streak against the Tigers also came to an end.
Florida fell behind by 19 points in the first half and trailed by 16 at the break. The team rallied in the second period and made it a one-possession game in the final minute but couldn’t regain the lead.

FINAL: MISSOURI 83, FLORIDA 82
The Tigers upset the No. 5 Gators behind Caleb Grill’s 22 points, including seven of the team’s 11 3-pointers. Mizzou also had 11 offensive rebounds in the second half and 18 points off Florida’s 13 turnovers.
Walter Clayton Jr. led Florida with 28 points. He pulled the Gators within three at the 3:41 mark, but missed two of three free throws a minute later that could have cut the deficit to two points and proved costly at the end.
SCORE UPDATE: MISSOURI 72, FLORIDA 66 (3:08 2H)
The Gators have made five of their last seven shots and trimmed it to a three-point game twice. Walter Clayton Jr. just hit his third 3-pointer and has a team-high 25 points, which leads all scorers, on 8-for-16 shooting.
SCORE UPDATE: MISSOURI 65, FLORIDA 58 (8:13 2H)
The Tigers pushed their lead back to double digits, but Florida has cut the deficit down to seven with the third 3-pointer of the second half by Will Richard. He is now the third Gator in double figures with 12 points.
SCORE UPDATE: MISSOURI 62, FLORIDA 53 (11:05 2H)
The Gators went on a 12-3 run to cut the deficit to five but Mizzou has made two consecutive field goals. The Tigers have 13 points off UF’s 10 turnovers. Walter Clayton Jr. has his seventh 20-point game of the season.
SCORE UPDATE: MISSOURI 58, FLORIDA 46 (14:05 2H)
The Gators cut the deficit to nine and have made four of their last five shots, but Missouri just hit its ninth 3-pointer of the game to go back up by double digits. The Tigers already have five offensive rebounds in the second half.
HALF: MISSOURI 50, FLORIDA 34
It was a terrible finish to the first half for the Gators, who didn’t score in the last 4:32, committed four turnovers during that drought (eight turnovers for the half) and missed their last five shots. The Tigers closed on the half with a 6-0 run.
Missouri shot 55% from the floor (17-for-31) and 50% from downtown (7-for-14), led by Caleb Grill who made his first four 3-point attempts. UF shot 40% for the half (10-for-25) and 33% from 3 (4-for-12) with a team-high 18 points from Walter Clayton Jr.

The Gators held top-ranked Tennessee to 43 points a week ago. The Tigers scored 44 points with 5:36 left in the first half, but Florida is on a 12-2 run over the last 2:42. Walter Clayton Jr. is up to 18 points on 6-for-9 shooting.
SCORE UPDATE: MISSOURI 42, FLORIDA 26 (6:34 1H)
The Gators are facing their largest deficit of the season and trailed by as many as 19. Mizzou has already seven 3-pointers on 7-for-11 shooting in the first half, as much as Tennessee (4) and Arkansas (3) made combined.
SCORE UPDATE: Missouri 30, Florida 17 (10:57 1H)
The Tigers are on a 13-3 run with three straight 3-pointers by Caleb Grill, who has 12 points on 4-for-4 shooting from downtown. Walter Clayton Jr. still leads all scorers with 13 points on 5-for-7 shooting. The rest of the team is 1-for-5 from the floor.
SCORE UPDATE: MISSOURI 9, FLORIDA 7 (16:00 1H)
The Gators jumped out to a 5-0 lead with back-to-back baskets by Walter Clayton Jr. on their first two possessions, including a 3-pointer but they’ve had two turnovers since then. Rueben Chinyelu ended a 2:26 scoring drought for UF before the media timeout.
