GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The No. 6 Florida Gators bounced back Tuesday with an 86-75 win over Vanderbilt, improving to 11-1 at home this season.

In a close game that featured 12 lead changes and 11 ties, UF pulled away in the last nine minutes and built a 16-point lead late with a 14-5 run.

Florida overcame the absence of starting point guard Walter Clayton Jr., who missed the game with a left ankle sprain.

Denzel Aberdeen and Will Richard combined for 34 points and zero turnovers, and Alijah Martin battled through a hip injury to score 8.

Three Gators scored in double figures, led by Richard with 21. His sixth 20-point game this season.

Alex Condon posted 19 points and nine rebounds, while Aberdeen scored 13 in his first start.

The Gators have made eight of their last nine field goals. UF is 6-for-9 beyond the arc in the second half. Vandy is 1-for-6 from 3.

The Gators made six shots in a row to build a double-digit lead (11), including back-to-back 3s by Urban Klavzar.

The Gators now have a four-point lead after three consecutive 3-pointers by Will Richard (x2) and Sam Alexis.

Alex Condon leads UF with 11 points and five rebounds, and Denzel Aberdeen has nine. Vandy’s Jason Edwards has a team-high 12.

Florida is shooting 50% (13-26) and 55% from the line (6-11). Vandy shot 54% for the half and 60% at the charity stripe (3-5).

Both teams were 3-10 from downtown and score 18 points in the paint. The Gators had the slight edge on the boards, 16-15.
