How it Happened: Florida Gators walk off on Alabama Crimson Tide

HOOVER, Ala. — Playing in its first extra-inning game of the season the Florida Gators walked off winners against the Alabama Crimson Tide. Trailing by three runs in the eleventh inning, the Gators quickly applied pressure to the Alabama pitching staff.

Wyatt Langford led off with a single to centerfield. That brought in Tode freshman closer Alton Davis II, a lefty with electric stuff. Jac Caglianone blooped a single into right field and Josh Rivera played Langford with a single of his own. That set the stage for BT Riopelle. The catcher went down into an 0-2 hole before getting a fastball he could handle. Riopelle turned the offering around for a three-run, walk-off home run.

The Gators will play in the last game on Thursday night in Hoover. They will face the winner of Vanderbilt and Auburn.
