Louisiana cornerback Trey Amos on Monday night announced via Twitter he was transferring.

Less than an hour later, several colleges already had offered him a scholarship. Florida was one of them.

According to Amos, a redshirt junior, he has two years of eligibility remaining.

It is not yet known if he will visit the Gators, but obviously Amos has strong ties to the Florida program. He signed with Louisiana in 2020 when current Gators coach Billy Napier was head coach at that school.

It was a busy evening for Amos.

He also collected offers Monday from programs such as Alabama, LSU, Miami, Michigan State and Ole Miss according to his Twitter feed.

He played three seasons for the Ragin’ Cajuns.

In 2022, Amos recorded 36 total tackles (27 solo) with eight pass breakups. He had one interception in three years at Louisiana and 60 total tackles.

Amos, listed at 6-foot-1 and 197 pounds, was the No. 70 recruit in the state of Louisiana coming out of high school. The majority of his offers back then were from Group of 5 programs.
