Meet the 2024 Florida Gators recruiting class ... so far
The Florida Gators enter May with seven commitments in the 2024 class after gaining two 4-star verbals in April.
That gives them the No. 4 class in the country (rankings HERE), which is good for third best in the SEC.
Right now, the class has both quantity and quality. It includes one 5-star and five 4-stars for an average player rating of 93.00. That’s higher than No. 1 Georgia.
Here’s a brief rundown of who’s on board …
*DJ Lagway, Willis (Texas), QB
On3 Industry stars: 5
On3 Industry Rankings: No. 3 quarterback, No. 4 recruit in the state of Texas, No. 23 overall nationally.
Rating: 96.60
411: Lagway is the undisputed jewel of the class. He committed to the Gators over programs such as Clemson and Southern California last Dec. 7. Now, he’s actively recruiting for Billy Napier and Co. and put out pro-Gator Tweets often. Lagway, who is extremely high on the Florida coaching staff and its development of No. 4 overall draft pick Anthony Richardson, will officially visit the Gators on June 2.
*Xavier Filsaime, McKinney (Texas), S
On3 Industry stars: 4
On3 Industry Rankings: No. 2 safety, No. 8 recruit in the state of Texas, No. 32 overall nationally.
Rating: 96.10
411: Filsaime pledged to the Gators the night of the Orange & Blue game April 13 over USC, Oregon, LSU and Georgia. Florida didn’t offer until January but quickly moved to the top. Although Filsaime lives in Texas now, he actually grew up in Orlando and his familiarity with the Gators didn’t hurt.
*Myles Graham, College Park (Ga.) Woodward Academy, LB
On3 Industry stars: 4
On3 Industry Rankings: No. 5 linebacker, No. 7 recruit in the state of Georgia, No. 50 overall nationally.
Rating: 94.66
411: Graham, the son of Gators running back great Earnest Graham, committed to Florida last August. While Graham seems locked in with the Gators at last check, it’s worth noting programs such as Alabama and Auburn have continued to recruit him. His father is close friends with Cadillac Williams, who is running backs coach for the Tigers.
*Adarius Hayes, Largo (Fla.), LB
On3 Industry stars: 4
On3 Industry Rankings: No. 6 linebacker, No. 11 recruit in the state of Florida, No. 64 overall nationally.

Rating: 94.10
411: Long before Hayes committed to the Gators in January, the other colleges recruiting him knew he was a strong Florida lean and would be difficult for someone else to land. He has made two known visits to Gainesville this year and now plans to return for his official June 2. His verbal seems strong.
*Chauncey Bowens, North Palm Beach (Fla.) Benjamin, RB
On3 Industry stars: 4
On3 Industry Rankings: No. 17 running back, No. 32 recruit in the state of Florida, No. 214 overall nationally.
Rating: 91.08
411: Bowens committed to Florida last September. But while he has continued to say he is locked in with Florida, that hasn’t stopped others from trying to flip him. He recently visited Miami, for example. Meanwhile, On3’s Chad Simmons reported in April “Georgia is considered a threat to the Gators.” This is one we will continue to monitor.
*Kahnen Daniels, West Point (Miss.), RB
On3 Industry stars: 4
On3 Industry Rankings: No. 26 running back, No. 10 recruit in the state of Mississippi, No. 310 overall nationally.
Rating: 89.89
411: Daniels committed to Florida on April 10 over several programs, most notably nearby Mississippi State. For the Gators, it took only one visit to get Daniels excited about the program. He first stepped foot on campus March 11. It’s not known if he will officially visit other schools.
*Josiah Davis, Nashville (Ga.) Berrien, S
On3 Industry stars: 3
On3 Industry Rankings: No. 45 safety, No. 55 recruit in the state of Georgia, No. 467 overall nationally.
Rating: 88.56
411: Florida offered the under-the-radar safety in February and quickly shot to the top of his list. He committed to the Gators on March 27 over Kentucky, Louisville, N.C. State and Tennessee.
