Nine Florida Gators earn NFL Draft Combine invitations
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators had nine players invited to the NFL Scouting Combine. Florida trailed only Alabama and Georgia for most players invited within the Southeastern Conference.
The 2023 NFL scouting combine will take place from Feb. 28 through March 6 in Indianapolis.
The group is headlined by quarterback Anthony Richardson and offensive guard O’Cyrus Torrence. Richardson has been predicted to go as high as No. 9 overall in several mock drafts. Torrence was a consensus All-American and could also hear his name called in the first round.
Richardson is one of the most polarizing players in the draft. His season opener against Utah had many talking about his Heisman Trophy potential but the rest of his season was inconsistent. He finished his career with 3,105 yards, 24 touchdowns, 15 interceptions, a 54.7% completion percentage, 1,116 rushing yards, and 12 rushing touchdowns.
Ventrell Miller won’t be able to participate in the Combine following surgery to fix a broken foot. It was an injury Miller sustained early on in the season but insisted on playing through. He finished his time at Florida with 238 total tackles, 124 solo tackles, 23.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, one interception, seven pass deflections, two fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles, and one defensive touchdown.
