No. 1 LB Izayia Williams flips commitment from Florida to Ole Miss

On3’s No. 1-ranked linebacker Izayia Williams is no longer committed to the Florida Gators, as he flipped his commitment to Ole Miss on Friday afternoon.
With today’s news, the Gators now hold a commitment from just one prospect: Will Griffin, a quarterback from Tampa (Fla.) Jesuit.

With today’s pledge to the Rebels, Williams has now verbally committed to five schools since becoming a recruit: Louisville, Syracuse, Florida State, Florida, and now Ole Miss.
As for the Rebels, they received an official visit last weekend. Shortly after the experience in Oxford, Williams deleted everything off Instagram other than a picture from the Ole Miss visit. That led many to believe that his commitment to Florida was fading. That proved to be true on Friday.
As a junior last season, the 6-foot-1, 215-pound Williams racked up 137 total tackles, 22 tackles for loss, six sacks, five pass breakups and an interception.

Two linebackers Gators Online is monitoring most
4-star LB Malik Morris, Lakeland (Fla.) High
The 411: Morris has been adamant about taking visits before making a commitment, and this spring, trips have taken place to Florida, Miami and Missouri. Texas A&M is another school under strong consideration, as official visits are scheduled with the Gators, Hurricanes and Aggies.
Morris doesn’t know when he could make a decision, but with UF trending and making him a top priority, I could see him making a commitment without much of a heads up. If that did happen, I would be surprised if Florida was not the choice. I recently submitted an RPM pick for the Gators and still feel good about it. Florida checks several boxes here.
4-star LB DQ Forkpa, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy
The 411: Forkpa is one of Florida’s newest additions to the linebacker board after being offered by Robert Bala about two months month ago. Now, the Gators are in his top three and scheduled to receive an official visit this summer. Additional OVs are planned with Michigan, Florida State, Cincinnati and USF.
Forkpa has been in contact with Bala since he coached at Washington, likes Ron Roberts‘ coaching style and already has an established relationship with Billy Napier. The Gators have been climbing his list as of late.
