No. 6 Gators host Stetson for final non-conference game before sellout crowd
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The undefeated Florida Gators wrap up non-conference play Sunday against Stetson at 1 p.m. on SEC Network+. The game is sold out, UF announced Saturday.
No. 6 Florida (12-0) also has a sellout crowd for its SEC home opener vs. No. 1 Tennessee (11-0) on Jan. 7. The Gators and Volunteers are two of only four unbeaten teams in the country.
Stetson is Florida’s sixth in-state opponent this season, the most UF has played since facing eight in the 2008-09 season. The Gators lead the all-time series against the Hatters, 54-14.
Florida’s 12 straight wins to open the season marks the second-best in program history, and the Gators have won 14 straight home games entering Sunday’s contest against Stetson.

Florida has spent the last three weeks in the AP Top 10 for the first time since 2019. UF is currently No. 7 on offense in the KenPom rankings and its defense ranks No. 17 on KenPom.
“Obviously really pleased. Being undefeated is hard to do,” Gators coach Todd Golden said of his team’s 12-0 start. “We’ve had some really good challenges on our schedule and equally as important, we’ve taken care of the teams that we should in the right way. We continue to strive to be one of the best teams in America. That’s where we’re at right now. We’re in the arena. We’re a top-20 defense on KenPom. And that’s kind of been our goal, to be top 20 on both sides of the ball. Offensively, we’ve continued to grow and get better. But as we sit here with one more non-conference game to go, I think the team realizes what the potential is and what’s in front of us and kind of what arena we’re in in terms of competing to play for a national championship as the year goes on.
“So, it’s a great start, but it’s just a start. And when we get back, we’re going to treat it like it’s 0-0 and that we kind of got a new season ahead of us while hopefully maintaining some of continuity and togetherness we’ve formed over the first half of the year. But I’m really proud of our team, really proud of our staff. I think they’ve done a great job both preparing our guys with scouts and making sure they’re getting better every day. Top down, program wise, we’re in really good shape. We’re really healthy and excited to get back.”
