CHARLOTTE, N.C. — O’Cyrus Torrence is now the first offensive guard in Florida Gators history to earn Consensus All-America honors.

He was tabbed to the Sporting News First-Team All-America team on Tuesday, the publication announced. With the honor, Torrence has been selected to three First Team All-America selections, (Walter Camp Football, AP, Sporting News) deeming him a Consensus All-American.

Torrence is the 34th Consensus All-American in UF history and the first unanimous selection since Kyle Pitts in 2020. He joins Lomas Brown (1984), Jason Odom (1995), Mike Pearson (2001) and Maurkice Pouncey (2009) as the only Gators offensive linemen to be named a Consensus All-American and becomes the first guard earn the honor.

A native of Greensburg, La., Torrence has also been named an All-American by The Athletic, CBS, and Pro Football Focus (PFF), which are not official selectors recognized by the NCAA for Unanimous or Consensus awards.

Torrence is the top-rated guard in the nation at 88.0 according to Pro Football Focus. He didn’t allow a sack or quarterback hit during his career, nor did he allow a hurry or commit a penalty in 698 snaps this season.

“This guy’s played probably 3,000-plus snaps in his career, right? So, four years of good football. Proven player,” Florida coach Billy Napier said of Torrence, whom he coached at Louisiana. “A guy that did a phenomenal job for us this year.”

Starting in 11 games, Torrence anchored an offensive line that helped pave the way for a rushing attack that ranked third in the FBS with 5.8 yards per carry, which is amongst the best in program history. Florida’s 213.7 rushing yards per game also ranks No. 16 in the FBS and is in line to rank in the top-10 in program history.
