O'Cyrus Torrence named AP midseason All-American
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — O’Cyrus Torrence has been one of the best players for the Florida Gators this season and people have noticed. The senior offensive lineman was named to the Associated Press midseason All-American list.
The AP All-American list is one of five publications in which a Gator could earn an All-American brick outside of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Torrence has started six games this season and is the highest-graded guard in the nation according to PFF. The Greensburg, Louisiana native also earned AP Preseason All-American status prior to this season.
“I like playing next to Cybo. I mean, he’s a stud,” Gators starting center Kingsley Eguakun said of Torrence .”You hear all the good stuff: he’s strong, big, all the good things and intangibles you want from a guard. And he’s smart. I just like playing next to Cybo.”

On Tuesday afternoon, Torrence was named to the 2022 Midseason Rotary Lombardi Award Watch List. The award honors a college football offensive or defensive lineman who best exemplifies the character and discipline of NFL Hall of Fame Coach Vince Lombardi.
Torrence was First Team All-Sun Belt in 2021. The Greensburg, Louisiana native didn’t have many offers outside of Louisiana. He was a three-year starter for Billy Napier at UL and didn’t allow a sack. He transferred to Florida for his final season and the jump in competition hasn’t affected him at all. Torrence still has yet to give up a sack in 338 snaps this season.
