After winning their first SEC game of the season over Missouri, the Gators will be favored this weekend against rival LSU.
Florida opened as a 3-point favorite against the Tigers and the line has moved to 2.5, according to OddsShark.com. The over/under for total points is 48.
Six of the last seven games in the rivalry series have been decided by one score, including last year’s 49-42 shootout in Death Valley with Anthony Richardson coming off the bench. He scored four total touchdowns and finished with 204 yards of offense (167 passing) in the loss.
Saturday’s matchup between the Gators (4-2, 1-2 SEC) and the Tigers (4-2, 2-1 SEC) pits Billy Napier against fellow first-year SEC coach Brian Kelly, who left Notre Dame for LSU.
The Tigers lost their season opener against Florida State, 24-23, before winning four straight games including SEC victories over Mississippi State (31-16) and Auburn (21-17). However, last weekend LSU was blown out at home by No. 6 Tennessee to the tune of 40-13.
