Peyton Manning says former Florida Gators QB Anthony Richardson 'not afraid of pressure'
Back in April, the Indianpolis Colts selected Florida Gators quarterback Anthony Richardson with the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Right around that time, former NFL quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning broke down Richardson’s game for the YouTube channel of Peyton’s Omaha Productions.
Somehow, we didn’t know this clip existed until now.
But we’re glad we found it. And those of you who haven’t already seen it will probably enjoy it, too. I
As it turns out, Peyton and Eli are fans of Richardson. Big fans.
“He took No. 15 — that’s Tim Tebow’s number,” Peyton remarked in the video. “That’s a lot of pressure. Tim Tebow at Florida is a folk hero. I think (Richardson) can handle the NFL after handling that. That tells me he’s not afraid of pressure. Not afraid of expectation.”
He went on to compare Richardson’s game to that of Tebow.
“There’s some similarities,” Peyton said.
Eli then interjected, “He can run. He’s tough.”
Both brothers agreed Richardson had plenty of room for improvement. But they seemed to love his upside. Here’s how that part of the conversation went …

Peyton: “I think Anthony could certainly use more reps.”
Eli: “Right. This is not the finished product.”
Peyton: “No.”
Eli: “He needs some time to develop.”
Peyton: “Yeah. You can say he misses some throws but he didn’t have that many throws. I think it was just over 300 attempts. … Josh Allen had seven hundred and something attempts in college, right?”
Peyton then added this: “The exciting big plays he can make, like Josh Allen, those aren’t going away.”
