When you win big, marquee matchups follow. The Florida Gators, fresh off claiming the 2025 national championship of college basketball, will face the Duke Blue Devils in the 2025 ACC/SEC Challenge, per Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports. And, the game will be played at famed Cameron Indoor Stadium on the Duke campus in Durham, N.C.

The two programs have combined to win six national championships this century. Florida won titles in 20062007 and 2025. Duke’s championships came in 20012010 and 2015. Additionally, the Blue Devils won two other titles in the 1990s. Since 2000, only UConn, with five, has more NCAA championships while North Carolina also has three.

Duke leads the all-time series with Florida 13-3. The programs last faced each other on a neutral court in Oregon in 2017; Duke won 87-84.

The Gators last played at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Dec. 9, 1998 when Billy Donovan was Florida’s coach and Mike Krzyzewski led Duke. The Blue Devils won that game 116-86 in the early years of Donovan’s storied stint with UF.

Now coached by Todd Golden, the Gators went 36-4 and beat Houston in April to win the national championship. The Cougars beat Duke to reach the finals.

The full 2025 ACC/SEC Challenge looks like this, according to Rothstein:

Florida at Duke
UNC at Kentucky
Virginia at Texas
NC State at Auburn
Clemson at Alabama
Louisville at Arkansas
Oklahoma at Wake ForestA
SMU at Vanderbilt
Texas A&M at Pittsburgh
Mississippi State at Georgia Tech
Miami at Ole Miss
LSU at Boston College
Virginia Tech at South Carolina
Tennessee at Syracuse
Missouri at Notre Dame
Georgia at FSU

Date and times are to be announced.

Meanwhile, Rothstein also reported Wednesday that Florida and Kentucky will meet twice during the 2025-26 regular season. Recently, it was announced that Florida also will face UConn next season in the Jimmy V Classic at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, Dec. 9. Florida had a thrilling 77-75 win over UConn in the second round of the NCAA Tournament to advance to the Sweet 16 for the 12th time in school history. UF snapped the Huskies’ 13-game winning streak in March Madness and a five-game skid in the series against them.

Of note, the Gators also play Arizona to begin the season in Las Vegas.

All in all, it figures to be one of the best, and most challenging schedules, in UF basketball history.
