According to CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz, former Florida Gators tight ends coach William Peagler is expected to rejoin Billy Napier’s staff in Gainesville. He was most recently an assistant defensive line coach for the Arizona Cardinals.

Peagler’s newest role with the Gators is unknown, but it’s worth noting the program currently doesn’t have another opening for an assistant coach.

In December 2021, Billy Napier announced the addition of Peagler to his staff as the tight ends coach. Peagler joined the Gators after serving as the running backs coach at Michigan State, where he coached All-American Kenneth Walker and contributed to the Spartans’ 10-2 season.

Prior to his tenure in East Lansing, Peagler held various roles across multiple programs. In 2019, he was the director of quality control for the offense at Colorado. The year before, in 2018, he served as the director of player personnel and quality control coordinator at Louisiana.

Additionally, Peagler has experience as a graduate assistant at Georgia during their 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship run and has held positions at Minnesota and Coffeyville Community College.
