Ricky Pearsall graded as No. 3 returning SEC receiver by PFF
Ahead of the 2023 season, Florida wide receiver Ricky Pearsall continues to reel in praise from around the nation. Pro Football Focus grades Pearsall as the No. 3 returning SEC receiver in the conference after coming over from Arizona State in the spring of 2022.
In 2022, Pearsall was an instant impact transfer for the Gators, recording 661 yards on 33 catches, and adding six total touchdowns to his name. Pearsall’s standout game came against the Florida State Seminoles, posting two touchdowns on five catches and posting 148 receiving yards in Tallahassee. On Florida’s road trip to Knoxville, Pearsall also eclipsed 100 yards on five catches.
Pearsall comes in behind Georgia’s Dominic Lovett (Missouri transfer) and Arkansas’ Andrew Armstrong (Texas A&M-Commerce transfer). Pearsall’s grade was 80.3 in 2022, a respectable mark that shows his production across the last season.
Pearsall finds himself above other recognizable receivers such as Tennessee’s Squirrel White, LSU’s Malik Nabers and Georgia’s Ladd McConkey.
Pearsall looks to build on impressive 2022 campaign after coming back to Florida
After weighing his options after a 6-7 end to 2022, Pearsall ultimately decided to return to UF after contemplating the NFL Draft. In the NIL era, fringe day three prospects such as Pearsall are more inclined to stay, as they can get paid and continue their degree before trying their luck the next year.

Pearsall’s relationship with Billy Napier also made the decision easier, as the two grew close once Pearsall decided to transfer to the Gators.
“Just really trusting in Nape,” Pearsall said when asked what brought him back. “I was going back and forth with it, but after talking with my family and praying about it, I just came to a decision and I think it was best for me to come back.”
Overall, Pearsall is excited to suit up in the Orange and Blue for one more season.
“I think this team is talented, you know, we got a lot of parts that are coming back. I think we got big plans ahead, and I wanted to be a part of it.”
