GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators issued their initial availability report Thursday night along with Ole Miss. It’s the second of four injury reports that will be released before the Gators (5-5, 3-4 SEC) face the No. 9 Rebels Tigers (8-2, 4-2 SEC) on Saturday at 12 p.m. on ABC.

One day after listed as questionable, redshirt freshman offensive lineman Roderick Kearney has been ruled out for Ole Miss. It will be the fifth game he has missed this season. Starting left guard Knijeah Harris will serve as the team’s backup center.

With Kearney sidelined, the Gators will have a total of 12 players and eight starters out on Saturday. Despite those injuries, UF coach Billy Napier said Thursday night that his team is in better shape health-wise than it has been in recent weeks.

“We are,” Napier said on his weekly radio show. “We made progress from Texas to LSU in a major way. And then I think we had no setbacks in the LSU game or this week. So, everybody is a little bit further along than even two weeks ago. This is the healthiest we’ve been in a while.”

The Rebels had seven players probable on Wednesday — including quarterback Jaxson Dart, wide receivers Tre Harris and Antwane “Juice” Wells Jr. and former Florida defensive end Princely Umanmielen — but all of them were removed from Thursday’s injury report, along with tight end Salathiel Hemphill, who was previously listed as questionable.
