GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florid Gators will square off twice against Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri and Vanderbilt during the 2023-24 season, the SEC announced on Monday.

The Gators host Arkansas, Auburn, LSU and Mississippi State and travel for games at Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas A&M.

Florida and Alabama will square off in a season series for the first time since the 2017-18, while the Gators’ series with Mizzou is the first since 2012-13, the Tigers’ first season in the SEC. Georgia, Kentucky and Vanderbilt are the Gators’ permanent season series opponents under the current schedule format.

This marks the final season of the current scheduling format with Oklahoma and Texas set to join the SEC for the 2024-25 season.

Todd Golden on his 2023-24 roster

In a one-on-one interview with Gators Online this month, Golden assessed his current team and what he likes about the makeup of the roster.

“Obviously, I’m more confident now going into next year with this group we’ve been able to assemble,” he said. “I feel like we’re balanced. I feel like we have good depth and most importantly, we have pieces that mesh well together. We didn’t just go out and say, ‘Alright, we’ll get talent, talent, talent and try to figure it out.’

“I feel like we did a good job of balancing our frontcourt, we balanced our backcourt. We have shooters, we have playmakers, we have defenders, rebounders, we have guys that will play well together, which I think is the most important thing.”
