Several Gators commits visiting elsewhere this weekend
Another recruiting weekend is upon us, and that means prospects are gearing up to visit college campuses.
Those include Florida commits, and unfortunately for the Gators, some of them are visiting other schools.
That is always a difficult pill to swallow for fans but expected in today’s landscape of recruiting.
Below, Gators Online highlights the UF commits expected at other schools this weekend:
– 5-star S Xavier Filsaime, McKinney (Texas) High — TEXAS
The Longhorns are trending ahead of this weekend’s official visit. They recently took a commanding lead in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine as well. Myself, I changed my RPM pick this morning.
Billy Napier and new secondary coach Will Harris visited Filsaime this week, but sources say Texas is sitting in the best spot.

– 4-star LB Adarius Hayes, Largo (Fla.) High — MIAMI
This one could go either way, but I’m not as confident in UF holding on as I was a week ago. The Gators were supposed to visit him today as well, so not having that final meeting could have an effect.
Hayes seems to be torn between Florida and Miami, but this weekend should determine everything. The U could have the momentum as of today though.
– 4-star WR Izaiah Williams, Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day — TEXAS A&M
This visit is somewhat of a surprise since it was the previous Aggies staff that offered. Also, Williams recently posted a graphic saying he was only a week away from becoming a Gator.
However, at the same time, Williams has not responded to texts about additional schools but comments on his visit plans with UF. That caught my attention right away. I feel good about UF holding on, but Williams has not visited elsewhere in a while.
This is an interesting one since it’s a fresh start for Mike Elko and the Aggies. We are keeping tabs.
Stay tuned to Gators Online.
