Shemar James accepts invite to post-season all-star game
Departing Florida Gators linebacker Shemar James will compete in the 2025 Reese’s Senior Bowl, the game announced Tuesday. James declared early for the NFL Draft two weeks ago. He was a three-year starter for Florida.
The game takes place in Mobile, Ala., James’ hometown.
James, listed at 6-foot-1.25 and 229 pounds, started all 13 games this season, finishing second on the team with 64 tackles, 4.0 TFL, 3 pass breakups, 2 sacks, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Per FloridaGators.com, James “had arguably his most productive game of the campaign with a season-high 11 tackles (five solo) while logging his first two sacks of the year and two pass breakups to earn SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors.”
James started first eight games of the 2023 season before a season-ending injury. He finished second on the team in tackles (55) and TFLs (5.5). He made 47 tackles as a freshman in 2022 and four starts.
