Scouting Report on Roderick Kearney

Kearney is an impressive addition for the Gators as Florida needed another interior offensive lineman in the 2023 class. His frame is undeniable and he has plenty of potential moving to the next level. Kearney moves very well for his size and pulls with authority. With his fast feet and his massive frame, Kearney is a menace in the trenches.

The 6-foot-4, 300-pounder is a great downhill blocker as he overpowers opposing defensive linemen with ease. Once Kearney gets his hands on defenders, good luck to them not getting run over or thrown onto the ground. For being his size, Kearney has crazy agility and strength, a combination needed to play in the SEC.

The scheme fit for the Orange Park native couldn’t be better, as what he does best on the field translates to Billy Napier’s offense at Florida. Kearney excels in space, whether that be getting to the second level or seeing usage in the screen game. He’ll be used on double teams often.

Although the Gators continue to build up their offensive line room, Kearney could step in and contribute early. If Kearney can get into the strength and conditioning program early at UF, there is no doubt he could see the field in year one. Position versatility is also a big plus for Kearney, as he could play all five offensive line spots. – Donavon Keiser (On3)
