“Florida’s a place that’s building. I want to go to a school that’s building, not a school already just has it all, you feel me? I want to help build and become a legend wherever I go.
“Coach Colbert showed me the things he do, how my game play will fit into the offense, and he showed me how, like, I can be a big priority, impact to this school for sure.
“The things he showed me were really different because the same thing, the route running they do, and the offense they run. It’s the same thing at my school, so me, when I do come to Florida, I’ll be all ready, you feel me? Hands on, already sculptured to rock out for sure.”
Scouting Report on Andy Jean
Jean is fluid pass catcher with good size for the receiver position. He is regarded as one of the premier route runners in his class, especially on out routes.
Jean does a good job of not revealing his route and really sticks his foot in the grass to make sharp cuts. Then at the 01:43 mark of his mid-season senior film, he showcases an impressive double move inside the red zone for a first down. Jean’s ability to create separation and dissect defensive backs really stands out.

While I view Jean as more of a possesion receiver, he is definitely a threat after the catch due to his acceleration. Northwestern utilizes him in the screen game quite a bit, and more often than not, the play results in a first down or close to it. He does a nice job of getting his pads north and south, showing the ability to slip through a tackle or two as well.
Then there is the physicality of Jean’s game, as he shows good hand placement when blocking on the perimeter. Also, at the 04:25 mark, the UF commit gets momentum downhill and pushes the cornerback 10-plus yards down the field.
This is a willing blocker who also makes plays on the kickoff and punt coverage teams. More often than not, that part of a wide receiver’s game gets overlooked.
All in all, Jean is a well-rounded wide receiver who does a little bit of everything fairly well. His route running and fluid style stands out the most, but he is certainly capable of racking up yards after the catch as well.
