GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators were not able to shock the world on Saturday night. Despite scoring on their first drive against Georgia for the first time since 2009, the Gators were steamrolled en route to a 43-20 loss to the No. 1 team in the country.

“Credit to Georgia. They beat us today. I do think that this group will respond the right way. I think ultimately, as a staff and as a team, being a man and taking ownership of things that you can do better. And I think ultimately we can compromise our character, or we can choose character, and we can go about our business here,” Billy Napier said after the game. “And there’s no sympathy. You guys certainly don’t have any sympathy for us, and in our league there’s no sympathy. You’ve got to turn the page and get ready to go the next week. We’ll go through this thing with a fine-tooth comb. It’s important that the experience that we had today, that we learn from that, all parts of our organization and certainly the players in that locker room.

The Florida Gators return home this weekend to play the Arkansas Razorbacks. Florida will go into the game as a 6.5-point favorite, according to lines released by FanDuel. The over/under is set at 48.5 points.

The teams are on considerably different trajectories at the moment, with Arkansas a mess thanks to injuries and an offense that simply hasn’t been able to find any rhythm. To that end, head coach Sam Pittman parted ways with offensive coordinator Dan Enos, seeking better results.

The Hogs will have had an additional week to prepare for the shift in coordinators, with Kenny Guiton taking over those duties.
