The Florida Gators moved across the street from Ben Hill Griffin Stadium to the new Heavener Football Training Center on Sunday. It is an $85 million building many years in the making, an endeavor that the Gators say will change the program.

“I think we’d be remiss here if we didn’t thank all the people that had contributed to the fundraising, the investments, the contributions, and all the people that came before us, as well, to position the program for future success. No question it’s going to affect recruiting. I think more importantly to me, it’s going to affect the quality of experience for current players and scholar-athletes. And the great thing about the Heavener Center is it’s going to be used by all student-athletes, right? All 21 sports here at the University of Florida are going to be able to use the inside and outside lounge area,” Billy Napier said on Monday.

“They’re going to be able to use the nutrition performance center. I also think it’s going to help our organization from an efficiency standpoint. We’ve even seen that today, right? The amount of time that we’re going to be able to save relative to transitions between different venues, and different events with the team. (We) can’t express our gratitude loudly enough. Just so thankful for all those that have invested and contributed there.”
